Yorkshire side Leeds United are currently waiting on a response from Belgian striker Charles De Ketelaere after they submitted a big for the player amid a battle with AC Milan, says an insider.

After a busy start to a transfer window with the signings of Marc Roca, Brenden Aaronson, and Ramus Kristensen to name a few, however, now it looks like they are waiting on a response from their top target De Ketelaere after submitting a bid.

ExWHUemployee has revealed that the Whites are battling it out with Serie A outfit AC Milan for the player and it is believed the Club Brugge man would currently prefer a move to the Italian giants.

He said on the Transfer Show, “Leeds are still waiting for a response for the move that they’ve gone for. Which is Charles De Ketelaere, a Belgium striker who’s at Club Brugge. Apparently, he fancies a move to AC Milan over that. Milan have offered not as much money as Leeds, so it’s going to be interesting to see who ends up winning that transfer.”

TIF Thoughts on De Ketelaere to Leeds…

Leeds is in desperate need of a new striker to either backup or gives competition to star man Patrick Bamford after the Englishman spent most of last season on the sidelines through several injuries.

Last season the Belgian impressed for Club Brugge with 18 goals and 10 assists across all competitions and ranked in the 97the percentile for expected assists, 96th for progressive passes, and the 81st for shot-creating actions. (Fbref)

With these stats in mind he could be a high-level link for the likes of wingers Jack Harrison and Dan James, but a possible partner for Bamford up front if Jesse Marsch opts for two strikers. Bamford’s striking ability, which saw him score 17 in his last full season, and De Ketelaere’s creative quality combined could make for an elite-level partnership for the Yorkshire club.

However, seeing off Italian champions AC Milan could be a huge feat as they can offer the player Champions League football and a chance at silverware, whereas Leeds could face another relegation battle if things do not go well.
