Journalist Tim Thornton has claimed that Arnaud Kalimuendo is ‘absolutely on the radar’ of Leeds United in this summer’s transfer window.
Leeds are interested in luring Kalimuendo to Elland Road this summer, but the 20-year-old forward has impressed during pre-season for Paris Saint-Germain and they do not appear close to agreeing a deal with the French giants.
Leeds recently saw last season’s top scorer Raphinha, with 11 Premier League goals, leave the club for a new challenge at Barcelona, and Jesse Marsch is evidently looking for a new attacker to attempt to replace his goalscoring exploits.
Although Leeds have been linked with the likes of Kalimuendo and Martin Terrier this summer, Thornton spoke to GiveMeSport and claimed that it is unclear whether Leeds will be successful in their pursuit, saying there are a lot of clubs who have been looking at the 20-year-old PSG striker in particular.
He said: “Absolutely on the radar, but whether they can get them over the line is another matter. Kalimuendo, for example, there are a lot of clubs that have been looking at him, but I know his name came up a few weeks ago.
“Leeds, they’ll look at a lot of different options, so I suspect they’ve asked the question but, obviously, they’ll face competition if they want to pursue it.”

TIF Thoughts on Thornton’s comments…
Patrick Bamford was injured for the majority of last season, which meant he was only able to feature in nine Premier League games, leaving the Whites without a natural goalscorer in the side, so Marsch will be keen to bring in a new forward to solve that issue from happening again next term.
However, Kalimuendo has been linked with several other clubs, while L’Equipe has reported that Leeds are not a priority for the 20-year-old and that he might favour a club in France over a switch away from his home country this summer, so it will be interesting to see where he is playing his football come the end of the transfer window.
