Journalist Alex Crook has claimed that Leeds United signing Tyler Adams over the next few months would make a lot of sense.

There have been reports stating that Leeds are in talks with Adams over a potential move to the Premier League, with the Whites chairman Victor Orta identifying the 23-year-old American as a top target for the club, especially as Kalvin Phillips is looking like he will leave the club.

Adams signed for RB Leipzig in 2019 and has gone on to make 103 appearances for the Bundesliga side in all competitions, including 14 in the Champions League. Marsch has worked previously with Adams at both New York Red Bulls and Leipzig so he will try and use his connections to get the deal over the line.

As Marsch has worked previously with Adams, Crook has claimed to GiveMeSport that the deal would make a lot of sense and there is every chance that it will happen this summer.

“Yeah, the Tyler Adams one makes a lot of sense. Obviously, you know, we’ve seen already this window Jesse Marsch shopping in a market that he knows well, and you know, Tyler Adams is a player that he knows well.

“So, I think there’s every chance that that could happen,” Crook said.

TIF Thoughts on Crook’s comments…

Interestingly, Adams was the first player ever to graduate from the Red Bulls Regional Development School program and go on to receive a professional contract and debut.

With Phillips on the brink of signing for the Premier League champions Manchester City, Marsch will most likely want to bring in a replacement for him, and with him knowing Adams from two previous clubs, this is a deal that could run smoothly and be completed relatively quickly.

Adams is just 23 years old, so still has a lot of time to progress as a player, and might not take a lot of time to transition to the Premier League, because he has already worked under Marsch, so will know what is required from the American coach to play in his system.
