Fabrizio Romano has revealed that a possible deal for Leeds United to sell star man Raphinha this summer could come down to who gives up between the possible buyers and the Yorkshire club.
While Leeds have stormed into the transfer window this summer with the signings of Brenden Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen, and Marc Roca, one of their biggest stories has centred around the possible departure of star man Raphinha.
The Brazilian has been linked with Barcelona, Chelsea, and Arsenal this summer and it looks like he will be sold, but according to Romano, it could come down to who gives up on the deal as they currently find themselves in transfer limbo.
He said on the Fabrizio Romano YouTube channel, “For Raphinha it’s an agreement for £60 million, but the player has not accepted yet personal terms proposal from Chelsea… Leeds told the agent of Raphinha they want to respect the agreement with Chelsea.
“Leeds wants to do the deal with Chelsea and to accept Chelsea’s proposal and to complete the deal… but, player side is not a detail, Raphinha is still in negotiations with Barcelona, his agent Deco is still in discussions with Barcelona… it is now a game of who is going to give up.”

Raphinha’s possible exit from the Whites has been one of the biggest stories of the entire window so far and it looks like the saga will continue as the club want to sell to Premier League rivals Chelsea, but the player would prefer a move to Barcelona.
While it is unclear where he will end up next season, whoever wins the race for the Brazilian international will be getting a top-class player. Last season he racked up 11 goals for the struggling Leeds side while averaging 2.5 shots, 1.9 key passes, 1.8 dribbles, 1.5 tackles, and 1.6 long balls per game. According to Fbref, he also ranks in the 91st percentile for blocks and the 90th for progressive passes per game, showing he has defensive capabilities as well as his elite forward play.
If the deal does in fact end up coming down to who gives up first, with the way their finances are being reported, it looks like the Blaugrana would fold first. They simply cannot buy without selling and are currently struggling to sell assets, whereas Chelsea is still able to buy and already have a deal with the club. They just need the player to change his mind.
