Journalist Phil Hay has urged Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch to give Joe Gelhardt a chance in the upcoming season.
The Whites are currently on preseason tour in Australia and just endured a rather drab 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.
However, one of the rare bright moments in the game was when Gelhardt picked up the ball from the edge of the box and nearly rifled it into the opposite corner, forcing a good save from Vicente Guaita.
Having watched the game, it seems as though Hay was sufficiently impressed by the young striker to come to a big conclusion.
Indeed, he took to Twitter to say:
Would definitely be letting Gelhardt loose this season. It's all there.

Will Joe Gelhardt be given a chance for Leeds under Jesse Marsch this season?
Yes
No
TIF thoughts on Joe Gelhardt and Leeds…
Last season, Gelhardt played 20 times in the Premier League, with some vital goal involvement against the likes of Wolves, Norwich and Brighton. However, he did only start five of those games.
Up to this point, he has played in just ten competitive matches for Marsch and Hay clearly feels as though the young forward is ready for more action following his recent Tweet.
However, Gelhardt’s involvement could well depend on the club’s transfer activity in the remainder of the widow. And with Leeds still in the hunt for another attacking option, potentially in the form of Charles De Ketelaere, it remains to be seen as to how prepared Marsch is to play the 20-year-old.
