Presenter Conor McGilligan has been blown away by the impact Marc Roca has made at Leeds United already.

The midfielder joined from Bayern Munich earlier on in the summer, signing for £10m having agreed a four-year contract with the Whites.

It seems as though he has taken little time in settling in either. Indeed, while over in Australia on their preseason tour, LeedsLive described Roca as one of the ‘best on the night’ in a recent friendly  against Brisbane Roar.

While speaking on the One Leeds Fan Channel, McGilligan outlined just how impressed he’d been by the ‘special’ player so far.

He said (11:37): “I absolutely love Roca. What a player he is by the way, absolutely love him.

“Straight off the bat you can just tell, can’t you? There’s just something about him. He is intelligent. It’s one touch then it’s an almost cutting pass. He can play between the lines really, really nicely.

“He gets stuck in. I think there’s going to be a fair few yellow cards for him and Tyler Adams.”

He added: “Especially for what 10 million? And we haven’t seen him so far, of course we’ve not seen him in a Premier League campaign. But I mean he looks very special for the amount we paid.”

TIF thoughts on Marc Roca and Leeds…

Interestingly enough, McGilligan isn’t the only one to be impressed by Roca so far. Indeed, after he made his first appearance for the club, albeit in a friendly Blackpool, Leeds supporters seemed to really enjoy what they saw.

Roca only played 24 times during his time with Munich, and so he will likely be impatient to prove himself at his new club and nail down a regular starting role.

Of course though, as McGilligan mentions, he hasn’t played competitively just yet. Even so, all the signs of this turning into a good move for player and club seem pretty promising.
