Ben Jacobs of CBS Sport has claimed that Leeds United could yet welcome two late signings this summer.

So far this summer, a total of six new arrivals have walked through the door at Elland Road with the Whites spending upwards of £95m.

So, it’s fair to say that those at Leeds have enjoyed a busy summer so far, especially when you consider the fact that Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha have departed in between the handful of arrivals.

And they may not be done there, with Jacobs telling GiveMeSport: “A back-up keeper, even with Kristoffer Klaesson still at the club, and perhaps a left-back could potentially be added later in the window.

“Jesse Marsch will assess during pre-season first. Junior Firpo is the only senior left-back at the club, so it would certainly make sense to bring in cover.”

TIF Thoughts on Jacobs’ Comments…

Going on what Jacobs has said, it looks as though Leeds fans can expect a busy end to the window, as the start of the Premier League season approaches. For now, it seems like it’s just a couple of squad players that Marsch is after, with backups in the left-back and goalkeeping departments.

The American will hope to see his new arrivals get off to a good start come the beginning of the campaign. In their latest pre-season game against Aston Villa, Leeds narrowly lost 1-0, courtesy of a Danny Ings penalty midway through the second-half. It is the type of mistake that those at Elland Road will be desperately hoping to see avoided when it really matters next season.

For now, though, it’s just about making sure that all of the new faces gain valuable minutes at their new club. And if it is just squad players Marsch is looking to add, then we do not feel there is a major rush to force any signings.
