Joe Wainman has delivered his verdict on Leeds United target Martin Terrier, who he would ‘most like to come in’ at Elland Road this summer.

According to reports, Leeds United are interested in both Terrier and Arnaud Kalimuendo this summer as they look to add to their attacking options. The Yorkshire club haven’t been shy when it comes to splashing the cash, either, welcoming six new arrivals.

Even after welcoming so many fresh faces already, however, it seems as though Leeds are prepared to continue their spending spree before the summer transfer window comes to a close.

Wainman had his say on Terrier, one of the reported targets, saying on the Just Joe Football Show: “We were after Martin Terrier. I hope that is the one now he would be the one I would most like to come in even over Kalimuendo.”

TIF Thoughts on Terrier…

Terrier – hailed “spectacular” by Squawka – would be some signing for Leeds, given his impressive record of 21 goals in 45 games in all competitions last season. If he could translate that form in the Premier League, then Leeds would have themselves a new talisman. Of course, though, for now, he very much remains a Stade Rennais player.

With still one month to go until the transfer window slams shut, a lot can still happen at Leeds. They’ve spent £97.78 million so far this summer, and Jesse Marsch will be aware of just how important it is to have a successful first full season in the Premier League, given just how much he has been backed.

If they can bring in a goalscorer, then Leeds will have the look of a side capable of staying up next season, too.
