Everton are one of the two unnamed clubs interested in signing Emmanuel Dennis this summer, it has been claimed.
According to a recent report from Sky Sports, two Premier League sides are hoping to sign the Nigerian, but their identify remains unknown.
This had led to plenty of speculation, with Wolves being urged to make a move for the Watford man – while the same has been said of Leeds United.
However, according to noted insider ExWHUemployee, West Ham United and Everton are probably those two previously ‘unnamed’ teams.
Speaking about the rumour on The Transfer Show podcast, Ex said: “Two unnamed Premier League clubs are interested in signing Nigerian forward Emmanuel Dennis – who’s valued at £20m by Watford.
“By what I know, I would guess those teams are Everton and West Ham.”
TIF thoughts on Emmanuel Dennis and Everton…
Ex has previously reported that West Ham have made an enquiry about the player, so it does seem as though he has his ear close to the ground regarding the particular deal.
On top of that, Everton have of course just received a big transfer fee having sold Richarlison to Tottenham Hotspur in a £60m deal – albeit with £50m guaranteed and the rest in potential add-ons.
Considering Dennis, who Claudio Ranieri called ‘very talented’, shone for Watford last seas0n – scoring 10 Premier League goals – and is reportedly available for that £20m figure quoted by Ex, it would make a lot of sense for the Toffees to have an interest in the 24-year-old.
However, with West Ham keen on a deal too, there could soon be a bit of a transfer battle between the two clubs to land the player.
