It’s safe to say that Everton have splashed and wasted a lot of money over the last few years on players with a big name or that had played for bigger clubs across Europe with Allan certainly falling into that category.
He wasn’t cheap either costing £21m and has certainly not been able to live up to the expectations he arrived with given they had previously played at the top of the game in the Champions League, with numerous disappointing performances, with two examples being against Liverpool and Southampton.
Scott believes that he is now finished at Everton.
(9:30) “Obviously we know Allan, God, he can’t run Greg he’s finished, we know that.”
Who has been the bigger flop at Everton?
TIF Thoughts on the midfield Everton duo…
Allan was only brought into the club during the summer of 2020 by Carlo Ancelotti, but he hardly featured under Lampard and was even hooked off at half time during a defeat against Southampton, so his future looks destined to be away from Goodison Park.
Although, Allan signed during a time in which Everton were spending very lavishly, so it’s very likely that he will be on big wages and thus, become very difficult to move onto other clubs willing to match his wage packet.
