Tony Scott has claimed on the All Together Now podcast that Everton youngster Stanley Mills could be set for a big season.

Everton are certainly struggling to make moves in the transfer market bringing in just James Tarkowski thus far, which could see Frank Lampard lean heavily on his current squad and promote some of the club’s youth products.

That is something he did very well during his tenure as Chelsea manager with Lampard giving regular minutes to the likes of Tammy Abraham, Reece James and Mason Mount, so this could bode well for someone such as Mills.

Scott has been left impressed by Mills during Everton’s pre-season and predicts the youngster having a big season for the Toffees.

Will Everton be in another relegation battle?

TIF Thoughts on Everton’s current youngster…

Given Everton’s worrying financial situation it would make a lot of sense for Lampard to utilise some of the younger players within the squad and promote from within, if they are good enough that is, because if not it will only send the Toffees one way, down to the Championship.

Which of these Serie A stars did the Toffees miss out on?

During pre-season Lampard has picked out Mills for the ‘energy’ he’s had through training sessions and games which will put him in a good place to get at least some minutes because if the Toffees don’t have quality on the pitch, they will need players with energy and good work rate to help them have a successful season.
