Noted insider ExWHUemployee has claimed that he was shocked to learn of Arsenal’s interest in signing N’Golo Kante.
According to the Daily Star, the Gunners are considering a surprise approach for the Chelsea midfielder, who now has just 12 months left remaining on his current contract.
Having learnt of the news himself, Ex was unable to hide his own astonishment over the links, saying that it would certainly be an ‘interesting’ deal to get over the line.
Indeed, when talking on The Transfer Show podcast, he said: “Interesting transfer, this one, which I’m kind of shocked at again if they were to pull this off – but Arsenal and Manchester United are looking to sign Chelsea’s midfielder N’Golo Kante.
“Admittedly, he’s not been [at] peak form as he has been for them previously, but he’s still only 31. And if Manchester United or Arsenal pull that off – and let’s not get it wrong, Arsenal love to sign an old Chelsea player – that will be interesting to see.”
Would you want N’Golo Kante at Arsenal this summer?

TIF Thoughts on N’Golo Kante and Arsenal…
Arsenal certainly seem to be in the market for a new midfielder this summer. However, a move for Leicester City player Youri Tielemans has long been reported and thus seems like the more realistic option.
However, as Ex mentions, the Gunners do have a tendency to sign ageing Chelsea players – with Petr Cech, David Luiz and Willian all making the switch across London in recent years.
Even so, the Premier League outfit do also face possible competition from Manchester United for Kante’s signature, and so it will certainly be interesting to see how things play out regarding the Frenchman.
But with just one year left on his current deal, it’s not hard to see why the World Cup and Champions League winner could be on both clubs’ radars this summer.
