Harry Smyeou has claimed that Lucas Torreira is likely to leave Arsenal this summer on a permanent deal after being vocal about departing.

According to a radio report, Lucas Torreira’s agent has confirmed that he has an agreement to leave Premier League side Arsenal this summer and join Valencia on a permanent deal, after spending last season on loan in Serie A with Fiorentina.

Despite being an Arsenal player, Torreira has spent the last two seasons away from the club, in the 2020/21 season he spent time in La Liga with Atletico Madrid, and last season he was a mainstay for Fiorentina, where he featured 35 times in all competitions whilst scoring five goals and registering two assists.

With Torreira spending the last two seasons away from Arsenal, Symeou spoke on The Chronicles of a Gooner YouTube channel and claimed that he is likely to depart on a permanent deal this summer due to him being very vocal about his desire to leave.

(11;34) “Lucas Torreira who has been linked with a number of clubs this summer, who has been very very vocal about desire and want to move out is, of course, likely to depart, between now and the end of the summer,” Symeou said.”

TIF Thoughts on Symeou’s comments…

Torreira signed for the Gunners at the start of the 2018/19 season and he has gone on to make 89 appearances in all competitions since, in just two full campaigns that he has actually been at the club, and not on loan. But for some reason or another, he has become out of favour from those at the club, so it will be an appropriate move for all parties if he was to move on permanently this summer.

The Uruguayan was named in the 33-man squad to go on the pre-season tour with Arsenal, but this could simply be because a deal with another club has not been finalised yet, and with the reports stating that Valencia could be confirmed soon, it looks like his time with the North London club might be up.
