Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Arsenal will make a move for a winger in the ‘coming days or weeks’.

With the news that the Gunners have verbally agreed a deal in principle to sign the ever-versatile Oleksandr Zinchenko for £30m adding a major arrival in forward areas thereafter certainly makes for exciting reading.

Edu and his recruitment team have already been busy at work this summer with the significant signings of Gabriel Jesus for £45m from Manchester City and Porto’s Fabio Vieira (£34m) and they were actively targeting Raphinha from Leeds United.

Moreover, the continued ‘priority’ of tying down ace attacker Bukayo Saka is ‘ongoing’ with the 20-year-old reportedly happy with the club’s project and bolstering their front line could further entice the starlet to stay put, no matter if it does provide competition for his own place in the team.

Should Arsenal be making top four this season?

No

Speaking on the Que Golazo YouTube channel on Friday Romano said:

(13:44)”I think they will go for a winger, they’re looking for a winger.

“As you mentioned, they wanted Raphinha they made two bids for Raphinha so it was an important target but then they didn’t want to enter in a bidding war.

“So I expect them to move for a winger in the coming days or weeks.”

TIF Thoughts on Arsenal…

The north London giants already sprung a surprise on their supporters this summer by announcing the signing of Vieira and while there is no word yet of who their target on the wing could be it is certainly exciting nonetheless.

Mikel Arteta’s side just fell short on their quest to regain Champions League football but having already added a striker in Jesus who has netted 58 times as well as providing 29 assists in just 99 Premier League starts bringing in another winger to add the star power already at the Spaniard’s disposal could be the difference in making the top four this term.

Get us a goal scoring midfielder like paqueta or ball winning midfielder like kante. We obviously need goals and more goals.
