Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has claimed that Arsenal signing Gabriel Jesus is one to watch out for when talking about the Golden Boot winner for next season.
Premier League outfit Arsenal have made four signings in this summer transfer window, and the latest was Gabriel Jesus from Premier League champions Manchester City, for a fee in the region of £46 million, on a deal that will see him stay at the Emirates until 2027.
Jesus was in fine form for Manchester City last season, he featured in 41 games in all competitions whilst chipping in with 25 goal contributions, which included scoring four goals in eight games in the luxurious Champions League.
With Arsenal signing Jesus this summer, Paul Merson has claimed that due to the number of chances that Arsenal create, Jesus could be one to watch out for when talking about winning the Golden Boot award.
“While Gabriel Jesus could relish being the protagonist at Arsenal. The Gunners always create chances, so the Brazilian could be one to watch out for (for the golden boot),” Merson said.

Gabriel Jesus managed to find the back of the net 13 times in 41 games last season for City, but 15 of those appearances came from the right-wing where he scored just three goals, and when he did actually play as a centre forward, he scored nine goals in 23 games.
With Arsenal letting Alexandre Laccazette leave on a free transfer this summer, Eddie Nketiah is the only other centre forward in the squad, so this is an indication that Jesus will be playing down the middle, so it will be interesting to see how he fairs with the service from the Gunners creative players.
Bukayo Saka created eight big chances for Arsenal last season, and Manchester City had five players who equaled or had more than this last term, so there is the slight worry that Jesus might not have the same amount of chances as he did at City last season.
