Journalist and Sunderland supporter Josh Bunting has urged Alex Neil’s side to sign midfielder Krystian Bielik amid doubts over the player’s future.

According to a recent report from Football Insider, the Derby County star is in ‘advanced talks’ to join a new club as he looks to join a team with his position in Poland’s World Cup squad in mind.

Birmingham City and Watford are among the sides said to interested in making the transfer, but Bunting has claimed that Bielik would make a fine player for the Black Cats.

The journalist wrote on Twitter: “I would absolutely love him at us, that’s a position that I believe that we need and he fits the mould.

“Quality player, problem is keeping him fit, but whoever gets him is adding real quality.”

TIF Thoughts on Krystian Bielik and Sunderland…

Bunting alludes to Bielik’s past fitness struggles and that certainly would be something any potential buyer, such as Sunderland, would have to be aware of.

Indeed, much of the midfielder’s time with Derby has been blighted by injury, with Bielik suffering two major setbacks in recent seasons that have kept him out for about a year on each occasion.

However, with five caps for his country and time spent at Arsenal in the past, it’s easy to appreciate the quality Bielik has. With that in mind, it’s no shock to see Bunting moot this possible move for the Black Cats.
