Reported Tottenham Hotspur summer transfer target Yannick Carrasco would be perfect for Antonio Conte’s plans.

This is what transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has suggested when speaking to Chris Cowlin on his YouTube channel about Spurs’ summer targets.

According to reports, Spurs hold an interest in the possibility of signing the Atletico Madrid left-sided ace this summer, with interest believed to be coming from other Premier League clubs, too.

Carrasco, who has been described as ‘extremely underrated’ by journalist Josh Bunting, had an impressive 2021/22 campaign under Diego Simeone, having provided six goals and six assists in 34 La Liga appearances (via Transfermarkt).

And with some of those games being played from the wing-back position, Romano believes he would fit in nicely to Conte’s system at Spurs.

Romano said: “He’s always been a player on the list of Fabio Paratici. I mentioned that Carrasco at one point was close to joining Juventus a few years ago.

“He’s a player that could be [a] kind of perfect player for Antonio Conte. At the moment, I’m told that Atletico Madrid have not received any official proposal yet from Tottenham.”

TIF Thoughts on Romano’s comments…

It will be interesting to see whether the potential sale of Sergio Reguilon could push Spurs back into the market for another left wing-back this summer.

Do Spurs need another LWB this summer?

No

After all, it was just a matter of days ago when Spurs confirmed the signing of Ivan Perisic as a free agent, and it is believed Ryan Sessegnon has impressed the Italian manager.

So it does seem difficult to imagine Spurs potentially hindering Sessegnon’s development in north London for a first-team regular who may not be guaranteed first-team football.
