Tottenham Hotspur are unlikely to use Harry Winks in their reported interest of the Everton forward Richarlison.

This is what the reliable Spurs journalist Alasdair Gold has suggested when speaking about the Brazilian on his latest transfer roundup on YouTube.

Recent reports suggest Spurs have now opened talks with the Toffees who remain insistent on not selling the 25-year-old unless there is an exceptional offer submitted.

However, it is also believed Frank Lampard’s side have a strong interest in the Spurs midfielder, Winks, who the north London side have valued at around £20m.

After an impressive return of 15 goal involvements in the league last season, Gold believes Spurs would be looking to do a cash deal with Everton believed to be looking to sign Winks on loan:

“At the moment, you know, we’re told that it [Winks] hasn’t been a part of that [Richarlison talks]. Richarlison stuff has just been there is interest at this moment but hasn’t been stepped up. I’m sure they will have come up in discussions at some point. But it’s mostly been about Winks.”

TIF Thoughts on Gold’s comments…

We are slightly surprised by this given the big fee it is believed Everton are looking for with the idea of including Winks a possibility to lower the upfront fee for the forward.

Is Richarlison worth over £50m?

Yes

Yes

No

No

With an asking price north of £50m, according to reports, it does feel like a big fee to pay for a player who would likely play the majority of his football from the bench at Spurs.

But in the same breath, Spurs do seem in need of getting Winks off the books now following the arrival of Yves Bissouma so we do wonder whether they do not want their pursuit of Richarlison to potentially prevent the sale?

  • Jay says:

Haaland cost Man City how much? £51 Million or something around that??? Richarlison isn’t a patch on Haaland!
So by using that logic, I would say Richarlison is worth around £25 Million
