Tottenham Hotspur could very much still make a move for Gleison Bremer this summer despite reported interest from Inter Milan.
This is according to the reliable Spurs correspondent Alasdair Gold who has been speaking about Fabio Paratici’s targets at centre-back on his YouTube channel.
A move for the Brazilian centre-back would be expected to cost less than Bastoni with Gold believing he would cost Spurs just north of £20m this summer.
Spurs are reportedly aiming to bring in Alessandro Bastoni from Inter this summer with question marks hanging over the deal with the Italian believed to be content at the San Siro.
With a deal for Bastoni seemingly stuck at the moment, Gold believes Spurs do still have an eye on the Torino centre-back, Bremer, who is reportedly very high on Inter’s shortlist:
“Next on the list, Gleison Bremer from Torino and the reason he’s interesting is he’s the player that Inter Milan are looking to sign right now. About £20m/£21m, Brazilian player, obviously, 25-years-old, he’s a right-footer as well.”
“It’s all very interesting with Bremer, the whole Inter Milan thing, all the brinkmanship involved in this as well. And the other interesting thing with Bremer is that he’s represented by CAA Base. If you’re not aware of who they are, they’re the agency that have got really close ties with Spurs, a lot of their clients have worked or have played for Spurs.”
TIF Thoughts on Gold’s comments…
We do find this extremely interesting and wonder whether this could be a possible move by Spurs to try and push Inter along in selling Bastoni.
Who would you prefer at Spurs?
It’s believed Spurs are confident of being able to match Inter’s valuation for Bastoni and if the Italian side hope to land Bremer they may well be forced into selling Bastoni to fund the deal.
With this in mind, any pressure put on a deal for Bremer could prove beneficial for Spurs, but equally, if Spurs hold a genuine interest in Bremer, they could well land the Serie A defender of the year.
