Arsenal have a fresh meeting with Leeds United arranged for this week to discuss the potential addition of Raphinha this summer.

This is what the inside Fabrizio Romano has claimed when speaking on the Que Golazo YouTube channel to discuss the Gunners’ interest in the Brazilian winger.

It is believed Arsenal have already seen one bid for the 25-year-old rejected by the Yorkshire side which fell way short of their valuation of their star man.

And with Arsenal also reportedly lodging a fresh bid for the Ajax defender, Lisandro Martinez, it appears the north London side are looking to secure their business before their pre-season tour:

“Arsenal will have a meeting with Leeds this week. Let’s see when it will take place but they will have a direct meeting, Leeds and Arsenal to discuss again about Raphinha.

“I say again because the opening bid was rejected by Leeds but they on it. Leeds want £65m and they are strong in their position now because they already sold Kalvin Phillips to Man City.”

TIF Thoughts on Romano’s comments…

This will certainly be a huge boost to Arsenal fans who have seen their side already do some promising business this summer with Gabriel Jesus believed to be all but done.

Is Raphinha worth £65m?

Yes

Yes

No

No

With it believed Leeds are looking for around £65m to sign their winger we will be interested to see how close Arsenal are willing to go given it is not necessarily a position in huge need of improvement.

However, if they are able to land the 11-goal ace, it would be a huge sign of support for Mikel Arteta as the Gunners set their sights on finally returning to Champions League football.
