Insider ExWHUemployee has revealed that Rangers are keen on signing West Ham United youngster Emmanuel Longelo.

With the past season now complete and the summer truly in full swing, many heads have already turned towards the transfer market. Indeed, the Scottish club seem keen on improving their squad and they may have already identified a new full-back to bring in.

According to noted insider ExWHUemployee, Rangers have an interest in Longelo and the Hammers are prepared to let him go if the right bid comes in.

While speaking on The West Ham Way podcast, Ex outlined his understanding of the situation. He explained: “Longelo, the full-back that played in Europe for us, has got interest from [Nottingham] Forest, Rangers, Bournemouth, and he’s set to leave.

“We were going to allow him to leave in January, but Forest didn’t put the correct amount in for him. So I believe if they do that this window, he would move to one of those clubs.”

TIF Thoughts on Rangers and Emmanuel Longelo…

Still only just 21 years of age, Longelo is yet to really break into the West Ham first team. Indeed, he spent most of the last season playing for the club’s academy, but he did make one appearance in Europe as Ex mentioned.

In total, the left-back has just two senior appearances for the Hammers, so he may well be looking to spread his wings and make a career for himself elsewhere.

How well do you remember where Rangers' signings came in from down the years? Take our quiz to find out! First up, Carlos Pena was the Gers' most expensive arrival during the summer of 2017, but where did he join from?

By the sounds of it, he should be available this summer if the right offer comes in. So if Rangers‘ interest is genuine, they will know what to do. However, with English Premier League clubs such as Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth also said to be keen on Longelo, the Glasgow giants may face some stiff competition for the defender’s signature.
