Content creator and Sky Sports contributor Chris Hamill has claimed that Celtic should be looking to gain at least £20m if they were to lose Josip Juranovic this summer.

Italian transfer insider Fabrizio Romano recently revealed that Parkhead officials are expecting Juranovic to leave the club ahead of the new campaign, with plenty of potential suitors ready to pounce.

The journalist’s post claimed that there is interest from the English Premier League in the right-back, who the Bhoys signed on a five-year deal just last summer for £2.5m.

However, Hamill believes they can recoup almost 10 times that amount, as he took to Twitter to compare his potential departure with ex-Aberdeen defender Calvin Ramsay, who has made the switch to Liverpool.

He said: “If Calvin Ramsay is fetching £8m all in, this beautiful little panenka-loving hobgoblin is worth at least £20m. I don’t make the rules.”

TIF Thoughts on Juranovic and Celtic…

Interesting first question, how many Celtic fans were inside Ibrox?

The 20-cap Croatia international quickly settled into life in Glasgow, making 35 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals and creating another two as Ange Postecoglou led the Hoops to a league and cup double.

Despite the update from Romano, Celtic fans may be encouraged by an update from journalist Izak Ante Sucic of Croatian outlet Germanijak that said: “Josip Juranovic to the Premier League Right now – No! As per our sources, Jura is happy in Celtic, he’s plays regular and in less then a year he become fans favourite. Also, he doesn’t want to jeopardize his chances for WC in Qatar. Celtic wants at least £15m for Jura.”

While a source close to the player seems to think that Juranovic will be staying put, one thing for sure is that there is interest, and this is a developing situation that Hoops fans like Hamill will be mindful of.
