Youtube presenter Ryan Fitzsimons has reacted well following the news that Celtic could sign Christopher Scott this summer.

According to a report from sources in Ghana, the Bayern Munich man is close to joining the Bhoys permanently. It explains how the youngster’s contract expires in June, allowing him to leave on a free transfer – although a £250,000 compensation fee will have to be paid.

And so, with that deal looking like it could well go ahead in the very near future, Fitzsimons was keen to discuss the player on his YouTube channel.

He explained that it could be an excellent move for the club as Scott would have come through ‘one of the best youth setups in world football’ before arriving in Scotland.

Fitzsimons explained: “I’m glad that is us apparently going to sign him. I think it would be a great pick-up, someone who’s played with one of the best youth setups in world football.

“He’s had a very successful time playing for the Bayern Munich second team in the fourth tier of German football.

Would Christopher Scott be a good signing for Celtic?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Of course, obviously you want to sign players who are playing at the top, top level. But, you know, Christopher Scott I think is someone who, according to all German reports, and all German journalists and lower-league fans, is someone who’s had a lot of potential and someone who quite rightly should have probably had a chance in and amongst the Bayern senior team at various points over the last year or so.”

TIF Thoughts on Christopher Scott and Celtic…

Scott actually spent time as a youngster with Bayer Leverkusen before making the jump to Munich. He went on to make two senior appearances for the German giants as a teenager, so it’s easy to see why Fitzsimons is excited about the deal.

Which season did Roy Keane join the Hoops?

This season, however, the attacking midfielder has played for FC Bayern II, where he has impressed with seven goals and six assists to his name in 24 outings.

With the official Bundesliga website comparing him to fellow Leverkusen academy graduate Kai Havertz, Celtic could well be picking up a real talent if they can get the final stages of this transfer over the line.
