After failing to break into the first-team last season, Christopher Jullien could cut his Celtic spell short, amid frustration confirmed by Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph.
Joseph told GiveMeSport: “I can’t see him breaking back into the squad. He’s already said he’s been a bit frustrated.
“He’s told French media he is fit, but from what I’ve been told at Celtic, he’s not fully fit, he’s not match sharp and probably isn’t ready to burst onto the scene with the type of intense football that Ange Postecoglou likes to play.”
Jullien, himself, previously hinted that he could leave the Scottish champions, telling GOAL France: “I still have a year of contract, and I’d like to continue playing here, but my priority is to be on the pitch.
“If the conditions do not change, it is certain that on my side the door will be open to continue my career elsewhere at a club where the coach would be happy to rely on my qualities.”
Everything is pointing in the direction of the exit door for the defender. The club look unlikely to use him, and the 29-year-old has dropped hints over his unhappiness due to his lack of game-time.

Just where Jullien could end up, if he leaves Celtic, currently remains unknown. With plenty of time left in the transfer window, however, this could be an ongoing saga. Currently valued at just £4.95 million, according to TransferMarkt, any deal would certainly be cheap, and, therefore, risk free for most clubs around Europe.
Celtic, meanwhile, will be hoping to secure back-to-back Scottish Premierships next season, with or without the want-away 29-year-old. In their first season under Angelos Postecoglou, they won the title by four points, with their tally of 93 points bettering Rangers’ 89.
Postecoglou will be hoping to see his side perform better in Europe next season, though, having seen his side exit the Europa League group stages, before falling at the first hurdle in the Europa Conference League.
Of course, to do well in Europe and your respective league, you need squad depth. So, whilst the exit door could loom for Jullien, Celtic may want to keep hold of players on the whole this summer, even if they are on the fringes of the first-team squad. Jullien may yet be among those players to stay at the club this summer.
