Celtic key man Carl Starfelt showed himself training on the beach on Instagram which fans will love after the player suffered an injury blow during his international duties.

The Bhoys got back to their winning ways of the past decade last season after picking up their 52nd Scottish Premier League title under manager Ange Postecoglou, replacing their bitter city rivals as the champions of Scotland.

One player who was a big part of their winning season was Swedish centre-back Starfelt, who featured 49 times across all competitions for the Glasgow outfit last season. Unfortunately for him and Celtic fans, during Sweden’s game against Slovenia, the defender reportedly picked up a hamstring injury which saw him stretchered off before half-time.

However, a light has emerged in the form of a video uploaded onto Instagram, below, of the player training on the beach while on holiday with his trainer ahead of next season, showing that hopefully, he can return in time for their title defence.

Interesting first question, how many Celtic fans were inside Ibrox?

As previously mentioned Starfelt has been a very important player for Celtic with 49 total appearances last season so any indication that the player could return before the start of next season will surely have fans buzzing.

It also suggests that the injury was not as bad as first feared, as he sustained the injury on June 2nd and according to mercy.com, a hamstring injury can last up to eight weeks if it’s grade one or two whereas a grade three can take as long as three months to recover from.

The £3.6m-rated man will be a welcomed return after his 21/22 campaign where averaged 1.2 tackles, 1.3 interceptions, 3.2 clearances, 3.9 aerial duels won, and 3.2 long balls per game with 91.4% passing accuracy on an incredible 93.3 average passes per game, according to Whoscored.

Postecoglou and Celtic fans will want the club to continue their title-winning form into next season and in order to do so, they will need to keep their star men fit, including Starfelt. So a quick return and a full pre-season for him to get back up to match speed would surely delight fans.
