Talking to GiveMeSport, Josh Holland claimed that young Wolves striker Fabio Silva could start to question his future at the Midlands club.

The 19-year-old featured just 22 times in the Premier League last season, with just six starts to his name. To make matters worse, too, in those 22 appearances, Silva failed to score a single goal. In fact, in all competitions last season, he managed to score just once in 28 games.

Holland believes that the forward may start to question his future at Wolves, telling GiveMeSport:  “Questions will eventually start regarding when Fabio Silva will get his proper chance.

“Obviously, he scored a hat-trick recently, so he’ll be starting to ask questions, and he’s got to start answering them because they paid a lot of money for him, and he’s not set the world on fire yet.”

TIF Thoughts on Fabio Silva…

The young striker needs to decide quickly, or may risk becoming a forgotten star amongst his teammates at Wolves. At 19, logic suggests that Silva should improve and develop, but we’ve seen little signs of that since his arrival in 2020.

In this case, a loan move may be ideal. Whilst sitting on the bench at Wolves, his development will undoubtedly pause. What he needs is consistent game time. If he receive that, then, and only then, will we be able to see whether or not Silva has the ability to have a future in the Premier League.

Bruno Lage will certainly be hoping to see Silva reach his potential, especially when considering the fact that Raul Jimenez’s contract expires in June of 2024. By the time that the Mexican is ready to move on, Wolves must have an adequate replacement lined up.

The question, then, posed to Silva is, can he be that replacement? Or is he destined to become a forgotten man at Wolves?
