Journalist Jacque Talbot believes that David Carmo will be making a move away from Braga, with Wolves showing interest.

There have been reports stating that Wolves are interested in signing Carmo in the summer transfer window, but they face competition from fellow Premier League clubs who are also keen on signing him.

Carmo had a frustrating season for Braga, as he missed the majority of the first half of the campaign due to injury problems, but his release clause of €40m (£34.3m) set by the Portuguese club still stands.

With Wolves showing interest in Carmo, Talbot spoke to GiveMeSport and gave Bruno Lage a potential boost after claiming that he will make a move away from Braga in the upcoming months.

He said: “I think David Carmo would be an interesting one. He’s picked up a lot of interest there. I have asked about him.

“But basically, he didn’t want any noise and just wanted to concentrate on international football. But now he’s back, I imagine he’ll be making a move away from Braga.”

TIF Thoughts on Talbot’s comments…

Wolves had an impressive defensive record last season as they conceded just 43 goals, and only the sides that finished in the top four of the Premier League conceded less often. However, they have lost Romain Saiss, who featured 31 times in the league and was an important part of their back three.

With Saiss leaving Molineux following the end of his contract, Carmo would be a great option for Lage, and with the Portuguese links at the club, it looks like a deal that could look yet happen.

However, due to Wolves finishing 10th in the league, they have no European football to contend with next season, which could limit the players that will be interested in signing for them, so it will be interesting to see if this puts Carmo off the idea of a move to the club.
