Journalist Ryan Taylor has claimed that Adama Traore will likely move on from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer – but would not rule out him staying at Molineux.

Wolves winger Traore has spent the second half of the season on loan with Barcelona in La Liga, but things have not quite gone to plan, after he made just four starts in the league since his switch to the club where he came through the academy as a youngster.

There have been reports that Spurs are ready to make a fresh bid for the Spanish winger after Antonio Conte showed interest in January, but a move to Barcelona on loan happened instead.

With the reports of Wolves looking to ship off Traore in the summer, Taylor confirmed this whilst speaking with GiveMeSport due to him heading into the final year of his contract.

“I couldn’t rule it out [Traore staying] because, technically, Barcelona are not going to sign him and he’s going to return.

“But I think he’s only got a year left on his contract, so Wolves will be looking to move him on and use that cash to sort of bolster the options within their squad,” Taylor said.

TIF Thoughts on Taylor’s comments…

Traore was sent on loan to Barcelona in January by Bruno Lage with the intention for the move to be made permanent in the summer, but the deal has not paid dividends, as the winger has failed to score and registered just two assists, which has consequently lead to the Spanish club not looking like they want to proceed on the permanent move.

The 26-year-old winger has not had the expected impact at Wolves in the Premier League that might have been expected of him, he has featured 160 times in the league whilst scoring just eight goals and chipping in with 16 assists, so Lage might be keen to get rid of him on a permanent deal in the summer.
