Journalist Josh Holland has claimed that Morgan Gibbs-White has been mistreated by Wolves, which could be in the back of his mind when deciding his future.
Gibbs-White spent the past season on loan with Sheffield United in the Championship, and he helped them reach the play-offs as they narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League after losing to Nottingham Forest in the semi-finals.
Gibbs-White has not featured more than 26 times in a league season for Wolves, and whilst speaking with GiveMeSport, Holland claimed that the 22-year-old has been unfairly treated by the club.
He said: “If they sell him, and I know that AC Milan have been linked with him, if he goes to AC Milan, you’d look at it and be like, ‘I’m not surprised’.
“I didn’t agree when Gibbs-White got recalled from Swansea City during the last season under Nuno and then hardly played and got played out wide. I don’t think he’s been treated the best, and I think that will be in the back of his mind about the new contract.”
Should Gibbs-White leave Wolves?
TIF Thoughts on Holland’s comments…
Gibbs-White was one of the main men for the Blades in the Championship, as he had the second-highest average player rating (7.16), the second-highest amount of goal contributions (20) and created the most big chances (16), as per SofaScore.
With the impressive stats whilst on loan this season, Bruno Lage might be keen to implement him into the starting XI at Wolves for next season, but if a better offer comes from elsewhere for him, Gibbs-White might be inclined to leave the club and start a new journey somewhere away from Molineux.
