Journalist Ryan Taylor has claimed that Wolves must act very soon if they want to pull off the signing of Joao Palhinha this summer.
At one stage, not that long ago, the Sporting midfielder looked as though he would soon be subject to a serious transfer offer from the Premier League side. However, the player remains with his current club and now Fulham have entered the frame as a possible destination.
Worryingly for Wolves, it seems as though the London outfit are currently leading the race for the player and so they will have to make their move in the coming days, even hours if they still have an interest in Palhinha.
While speaking on the Taylor Talks Transfers podcast, the journalist explained: “As I was to say about Palhinha, I’m not sure Wolves are ready to jump back in, but they would have to do so in the next two days – probably the next crucial hours, really.
“With Fulham sort of advancing now. Marco Silva has been central to their interest. They want a defensive midfield player, Fulham, and there is money to spend.”

According to Fabrizio Romano, Fulham are prepared to pay Sporting a fee of around €18m (£15.4m) plus add-ons to get the deal done – which confirms Taylor’s claim that ‘there is money to spend’ for the Cottagers.
It remains unclear as to whether or not Wolves will see that as a fair price and if they could be tempted to try and outbid their Premier League rivals at the last moment.
If that is how they feel, they will seemingly need to heed Taylor’s advice and act quick. For now though, it does look as if this transfer may be one that slips away from Molineux.
If the player signs for Fulham he will be playing championship football at the end of the season.
