Presenter Dan Lawless has expressed his confusion over West Ham United transfer links to Emmanuel Dennis and Ismaila Sarr.
According to club insider ExWHUemployee the Hammers currently have an interest in possibly signing the two Watford players this summer.
Indeed, he recently claimed that David Moyes and co will ‘make a move for both in the coming weeks’. While this sort of activity may excite some supporters, the West Ham Fan TV man seems baffled by the approach.
Writing on Twitter in response to the news, Lawless said: “What I can’t wrap my head around with us signing both Sarr & Dennis is that I can’t see a where they both start.
“[Jarrod] Bowen isn’t getting dropped, Moyes wants [Michail] Antonio as his first choice striker which just leaves left wing.
“Moyes said he only wants signings that improve the first 11.”
Should West Ham sign Emmanuel Dennis and Ismaila Sarr?
Yes
Just Dennis
Just Sarr
Neither
TIF thoughts on Emmanuel Dennis, Ismaila Sarr and West Ham…
Last season, Dennis impressed in the Premier League despite Watford’s relegation and ended the campaign with ten goals and six assists (via Transfermarkt).
While Sarr’s quality has been known for some time, with the likes of Liverpool holding an interest in the player for a number of seasons now.
Even so, Lawless clearly doesn’t feel as if there is space in the West Ham team for both players. However, one attacking player that could be on the move, according to reports, is Said Benrahma.
And so, if the winger is shifted out, perhaps Moyes will feel as though there would be enough space to accommodate both Watford forwards. Or perhaps, the manager will end up just signing one of the duo, but is keeping his options open at this stage – only time will tell.
