Presenter ExWHUemployee has revealed that West Ham United are targeting a possible transfer for Mohamed Bayo.

The striker currently plays for Clermont Foot in France and it sounds as though the part of the world is where the Hammers have been scouting ahead of the upcoming transfer market.

Indeed, while speaking on The West Ham Way Patreon page, Ex spoke of how Head of Recruitment Rob Newman and scout George Santos have been watching players in Ligue 1 and Bayo is now seen as a real option to sign this summer.

The presenter listed targets as he spoke about forwards West Ham could try to buy, saying: “Emmanuel Dennis of Watford, Armando Broja of Chelsea/Southampton (who we bid for in January) and a French target with the most likely to be Mohamed Bayo of Clermont Foot.

“As we have reported numerous times in the past, Rob Newman is a big fan of the French market. And alongside George Santos (scout) they have identified a number of players with nearly all of the non-PSG forwards having been discussed at some point.”

TIF thoughts on Mohamed Bayo and West Ham…

The 24-year-old scored 14 goals in Ligue 1 this past season, while also adding five assists to his tally in 32 games – showing he has been able to offer plenty to the Clermont Foot attack.

Clearly, Bayo has done enough to earn the praise of the West Ham scouting department and so David Moyes may well hope to sign him in the coming months.

West Ham United fans, who were these players sold to? Starting with Felipe Anderson

Of course, with the likes of Dennis and Broja also being linked, the club might not prioritise a move for the 24-year-old – who has three goals at the international level too. If Ex’s information is accurate though, this certainly looks like one to keep an eye on.
