Insider ExWHUemployee has revealed that West Ham United have been handed the ‘opportunity’ to try and sign Youssef En-Nesyri.

While all the transfer focus seems to have been on the possible signing of Rennes defender Nayef Aguerd, it looks as though a move for his Moroccan teammate could be next on the agenda for the Hammers.

Indeed, the Sevilla striker has been offered up as a potential West Ham transfer this summer if David Moyes wants to make a bid for En-Nesyri, though it remains unclear as to whether or not the manager values the player highly enough to pursue him over the coming weeks and months.

Talking about the matter on The West Ham Way Patreon page, Ex outlined his understanding of the current situation in great detail.

He explained: “Manager David Moyes has been presented with the opportunity to bid for Sevilla’s forward Youssef En-Nesyri again.

“Ironically En-Nesyri is an international teammate of Nayef Aguerd who is on the brink of signing for the club. Bringing in the international teammates could help both to settle but the manager needs to decide whether he is still keen on the forward.

“In the season 20/21 En-Nesyri scored 24 goals in 52 games where as last season he only managed 5 in 29 and Moyes needs to decide whether he will be able to recapture his best form although his new valuation does reflect this dip.

“There are other forward targets out there such as Bayo, Dennis and Broja but Moyes was very keen on the player in January. We will bring you more when we have it.”

TIF thoughts on Youssef En-Nesyri and West Ham…

It is certainly interesting that Moyes did seem to be keen on the player not that long ago – as Ex makes clear. Indeed, reports from Spanish media suggested that West Ham could make a move for En-Nesyri back in January, but no deal ever materialised.

With 55 goals in 201 professional appearances (via Transfermarkt), the striker knows how to find the back of the next on a regular basis, even if his stats aren’t quite prolific. This led to him being called ‘important’ to Sevilla.

No doubt, this will be something Moyes is currently weighing up having now supposedly been handed the opportunity to make a move for the 25-year-old forward in the current market.

This deal certainly looks as though it could be one to keep an eye on in the near future as it potential develops into something more serious.
