Insider ExWHUemployee has confirmed that West Ham United are preparing a ‘formal offer’ for striker Armando Broja.
The Albanian has long been linked with a possible move to the Hammers and it now seems as though that interest has been taken up a notch, and will result in David Moyes’ side submitting an official bid for the forward in the very near future.
Indeed, while talking on The West Ham Way Patreon page, Ex outlined his full understanding of the situation, explaining how it could all play out for the Chelsea man, who spent last season out on loan with Southampton.
The insider began: “Armando Broja is a top target for the club, with the club expected to make a move soon.”
He then added: “Having now secured the signing of a centre-back in Nayef Aguerd today [Monday], the club are now looking to sign another 5-6 players, including a forward. It seems that having made initial enquiries for a number of forwards, the club are preparing to submit a formal offer for the former on-loan Southampton forward.
Should West Ham sign Armando Broja?
Yes
No
“Chelsea ideally wanted to clear up [Romelu] Lukaku’s future before any other player was sold, but this is looking close that he will move back to Inter Milan and most likely on loan. Chelsea have forward targets themselves in [Gabriel] Jesus of Man City and Richarlison of Everton. The moves of Lukaku and potentially Broja would help free up space for those moves. Chelsea are likely to want to negotiate a buy-back clause, which is something West Ham do not want to consider.
“We expect an offer to go in for the forward in the next day or so and as per, we will bring you all the twists and turns in the deal.”
TIF Thoughts on Armando Broja and West Ham…
It is interesting to hear that the move could potentially depend on some of Chelsea’s other transfer plans. Ex mentions the future of Lukaku as playing a relevant role, and with the striker looking likely to return to Inter in the near future, things could be heading in the right direction for West Ham and Broja, too.
Still only 20 years of age, the young forward netted nine times in all competitions while playing for the Saints on loan last term, and this has clearly been enough to impress Moyes and co.
If Ex’s information is accurate, a bid will go in soon. No doubt, fans of the Hammers will wait in anticipation to hear Chelsea’s response – with talk of a possible buy-back clause also mentioned as a way of getting the deal across the line.
