Insider ExWHUemployee has revealed that West Ham United could be ‘tempted’ to try and sign winger Adnan Januzaj.
In May, Real Sociedad announced that the former Manchester United man would be leaving them when his contract expires later this summer.
Still only 27 years of age, the Belgian international was always likely to receive some attention in the current window due to his availability, and one club that may try and sign him are West Ham.
Indeed, while writing on The West Ham Way Patreon page, Ex claimed that the Hammers could well make a move for Januzaj – though they may face stiff competition for his signature.
He explained: “A name we have brought to you a number of times in the past is getting more traction in the press in recent days, and that is Adnan Januzaj.
“David Moyes is a big fan of the Belgium international from his days at Manchester United and Sunderland, and could be tempted to make a move for the out-of-contract player.
“There is a lot of competition, however, mainly from Italian teams.”
Would Adnan Januzaj be a good signing for West Ham?
Yes
No
TIF Thoughts on Adnan Januzaj and West Ham…
Januzaj, who was called ‘brilliant’ by Paul Scholes, will leave Sociedad having scored 23 goals while also providing 21 assists for the team, so the winger has clearly displayed a fine end product during his time in Spain.
He also has Premier League experience, having played for both Manchester United and Sunderland in the past – and this could make him a more attractive option for West Ham and David Moyes.
However, as Ex mentions, it seems as though a number of Italian clubs will be trying to bring him to Serie A instead. With that in mind, the Hammers may want to act quickly if they really do hold an interest in signing the 27-year-old on a free.
