ExWHUemployee has revealed that West Ham United defender Arthur Masuaku is looking likely to be sold this summer.

The 28-year-old defender will supposedly be allowed to leave the club, and for now, it seems as though Fulham is the most likely destination.

The left-back struggled to make a huge impact in the team last season, so it might not exactly come as a shock to see him linked with a move away.

Speaking about the matter on The West Ham Way podcast, Ex said: “In terms of Masuaku, [there is] interest from Fulham there. The club have said that he can go if he gets the right club.

“So Fulham – the manager [Marco Silva] has worked with him before – are looking to maybe conclude that deal.”

TIF Thoughts on Arthur Masuaku and West Ham…

Last term, Masuaku started just six Premier League games and it was a similar story in Europe, with the defender making the first XI in just two Europa League matches (via Transfermarkt).

As mentioned before, this means it’s no massive surprise to see him linked with a move away, and Fulham could represent a good option. Ex alludes to it in his quotes, but Masuaku has actually played under manager Marco Silva 32 times in the past for Olympiacos, so a reunion could well be on the cards.

The left-back also has a couple of years left on his contract, so West Ham could claim a reasonable transfer fee – which is probably why they are happy to let the defender leave this summer.

Taking everything into account, it looks as though this move could suit all parties.
