Club insider ExWHUemployee has claimed that West Ham United duo Angelo Ogbonna and Lukasz Fabianski have signed new contracts.

As things stand, the centre-back will see his deal expire this summer (via Transfermarkt), while the case looks to be the same for the goalkeeper, who signed a one-year extension last year.

However, a recent club announcement named all the players leaving the club this summer when their contracts end – including the likes of Andriy Yarmolenko and Ryan Fredericks – but the duo were not mentioned on the list.

With no official news of updated contract offers, the situation for both players remains somewhat unclear. However, while speaking on The West Ham Way podcast, Ex stated that new deals had been signed.

He said: “There’s been talk that Ogbonna and Fabianski are still in contract negotiations, but as far as I’m aware, both of those players have signed deals now.

“There was the retained list and the released list, released last week, and neither of their names were on the released list. So I believe that both have already signed deals.

“There might be little things to sort out, but as far as I’m aware, both are done deals. Fabianski and Ogbonna will be there next season.”

TIF Thoughts on Angelo Ogbonna, Lukas Fabianski and West Ham…

Having been a starting option in the middle of defence for David Moyes in the first stages of the season, Ogbonna sadly suffered a cruciate ligament rupture which prevented him from featuring for most of the campaign.

Despite that, as well as being 34 years old, his manager has shown his faith in his ability by offering the new contract – if Ex’s information is true.

Fabianski is another one of the club’s older players. Even so, at 37 years of age, he was the clear No 1 option last term and started 37 Premier League games.

West Ham United fans, who were these players sold to? Starting with Felipe Anderson

West Ham are clearly not afraid to commit to some of their more senior players as they hand out these new contracts. Moyes must feel as though he will be able to call upon their experience when needed next season.
