Presenter Dan Lawless has expressed his anger after hearing Nikola Vlasic could leave West Ham United on loan this summer with a move to Italy.

According to a recent report in TuttoMercatoWeb, the Croatian could well be joining Serie A side Torino ahead of a loan move that will keep him overseas for a season.

Upon hearing this news, Lawless seemed to be rather unhappy with the story, suggesting that a switch to a Premier League side would be more beneficial for the player.

The West Ham Fan TV man took to Twitter to say: “What a waste of time loaning Vlasic to a Serie A side. We should loan him to one of the promoted Prem sides so he can get more experience in the league.”

TIF Thoughts on Nikola Vlasic and West Ham…

The winger joined for £26.8m (plus £7.7m in possible add-ons) last summer from CSKA Moscow but has struggled to make a huge impact in England.

Indeed, he scored just one goal and claimed two assists in all competitions in his debut season for the Hammers (via Transfermarkt). With that in mind, it’s understandable that Lawless wants Vlasic to stay in the Premier League and improve his form.

However, he also spent time with Everton in the past, but didn’t shine particularly brightly there, either. So perhaps it will be best for Vlasic to develop elsewhere.

West Ham United fans, who were these players sold to? Starting with Felipe Anderson

If he can’t find his feet in Italy – should the move go through – it’s hard to see him having much of a future with the Irons in the long term.
