According to ExWHUemployee, West Ham United are continuing talks as they pursue the signature of winger Ismaila Sarr this summer – following rumours suggesting that a deal was ‘70%’ done.

There have been numerous reports around the Hammers’ desire to bolster their attacking options this summer, with Michail Antonio the only recognised striker in the side, and it would now appear the club are looking at Watford Sarr, as well as teammate Emmanuel Dennis – though others are ahead of the Nigerian striker in the club’s plans.

Ex has now relayed rumours of a deal for Sarr getting closer, and while Dennis is a target for the east London outfit, they have other options ahead of him on their transfer wishlist.

He said on The West Ham Way Patreon page: “There has also been some talk of Sarr being 70% done by a source who seems to have taken the Watford equivalent of my name.

“I believe we had had talks with Watford but these need to continue for the deal to go anywhere. As reported, we also like Dennis, their forward, but [Armando] Broja is ahead in the pecking order, as is Giovanni Simeone from Serie A outfit Hellas Verona.”

TIF Thoughts on Sarr to West Ham…

Sarr, who was dubbed a ‘champion’ by Claudio Ranieri, played well again last season with five goals and two assists despite the Hornets facing relegation at the end of the campaign. He averaged an impressive 1.8 shots, 0.9 key passes and 1.4 dribbles per game, with a 77.8% passing accuracy.

The Irons have not been the first Premier League side to show interest in the £24.3m-rated winger since he arrived in England, as giants Liverpool were linked with a  move for the winger back in 2020, according to France Football.

While it is hard to gauge how close a deal 70% done actually is to being finalised – if indeed that information holds true – it looks like the club are making Sarr a priority to help out their attacking options next season. He could also be coming in at the perfect time as it has been suggested the club are listening to offers for Said Benrahma and Nikola Vlasic, who remain attacking options for Moyes.

It is unclear how much he could end up costing the club, but considering he was recently tracked by a club like Liverpool, he is surely worth looking into.
