Journalist Paul Brown has claimed that despite previously making a big bid for Youssef En-Nesyri, West Ham United will not make another one over the next few months.
There were reports last summer that West Ham United were keen to bring En-Nesyri to the Premier League after they lost Sebastian Haller to Ajax. The Hammers did show continued interest in Sevilla’s striker in January, but they had a bid of £27m turned down.
The Moroccan forward, who was called ‘skilful’ by Kevin Campbell, experienced several injuries last season and was somewhat out of form when played, making 23 appearances in La Liga whilst scoring just five times and registering two assists.
Whilst speaking with GiveMeSport, Brown claimed that due to his lack of form this term, he would be surprised if the Hammers came back in with a big bid for En-Nesyri – despite his claim the forward is still on David Moyes’ shortlist.
He said: “I’m pretty sure he’s still on their radar. They had quite a big bid turned down for him at one point when it looked like he was their most likely option that window.
“Since then, his form’s gone off a cliff a little bit. He hasn’t had a great season and it would be a surprise if West Ham were to make a big bid for him now.”

TIF Thoughts on Brown’s comments…
West Ham ended up finishing seventh in the Premier League last season, one place lower than the previous campaign. So Moyes will certainly be looking to upgrade his squad over the summer to ensure that they remain in European contention.
The striker spot is almost a necessity for Moyes to fill this summer, as Michail Antonio is the only recognised striker in the squad, though they might be keen to bring someone in who has had a more successful campaign than En-Nesyri, especially after having a big-money bid turned down for him in January.
So we wouldn’t be surprised if Brown is on the money with his claim, as you would think the Hammers will avoid taking risks when attempting to fill such a critical role in the side.
