Journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed on The Done Deal Show when West Ham United target Armando Broja could see his future sorted out.

It has been reported recently that West Ham are preparing to lodge a £30m bid for the 20-year-old striker, who spent last season out on loan with Southampton, where he managed to net six times in 32 league appearances.

On paper, £30m would seem like a lot of money for someone who failed to really light up the Premier League last season and has just one season of top-flight experience under their belt, but the Hammers appear set on landing the Albanian.

While West Ham are said to be readying an offer for Broja, any decision from Chelsea may not come for another few weeks at least, as Jacobs explained.

He said: “If Chelsea say to Broja, separate to [a deal for] Declan Rice, ‘do you want to be loaned out?’, he may say no, and therefore, they may have to either sell him on a permanent deal – or sell him on a permanent deal and try and negotiate a buyback.

Is £30 million too much for Broja?

“But with Broja, Tuchel wants him back first to see what he’s dealing with up close and personal day-in, day-out then a decision will be made.”

TIF Thoughts on West Ham target Broja…

It’s pretty obvious that the Hammers are in desperate need of a new striker this summer, as Michail Antonio struggled to lead the line for a full season, netting just 10 league goals, but he does have a contract until 2024, so will likely remain as an option up front at the very least.

Therefore, bringing in a younger striker still learning his trade in the form of Broja could well be a smart piece of business, although the £30m price tag appears to be a rather expensive one given his lack of experience.

Despite still being rather unproven in the Premier League, that hasn’t stopped the league’s all-time top scorer Alan Shearer from heaping praise on the 20-year-old with the pundit saying: “Let me tell you, this lad is clinical,” so perhaps Broja has a brighter future than his initial goal return in the top flight may suggest.
