Presenter Chris Cowlin has tipped Tottenham Hotspur to be busy in the transfer market this week to help prepare the squad ahead of pre-season.

Already this summer, Spurs have made two signings. Indeed, Fraser Forster joined on a free transfer from Southampton, while Ivan Perisic will be at the club next season after arriving from Inter.

No doubt though, fans will expect plenty more business from the Premier League club as Antonio Conte looks to build the squad in his image.

While speaking on his own YouTube channel, Cowlin explained why he believes more transfers will get across the line in the very near future.

He said: “I’m expecting activity this week with Spurs, because of course we started the summer so well by signing Fraser Forster and Ivan Perisic.

“I’m expecting big things this week. I’m expecting big things in the next month or so, a number of players to come through the door.

“Because we’re only a month away now from pre-season, the South Korea tour; and Antonio Conte will want these players in the door as soon as possible, and I have no doubt Spurs, Fabio Paratici will be working extremely hard to try and get these deals over the line and improve this squad.”

TIF Thoughts on Spurs and their transfer plans…

It has been reported that Daniel Levy would be prepared to allow Conte to spend somewhere in the region of £150m as the club look to build upon last season when they squeezed into the top four.

One of the players who could be on his way in the near future is Middlesbrough defender Djed Spence. Indeed, football.london has reported that Tottenham are among the frontrunners to sign the full-back.

How well do you know where these Spurs signings came from? Take our quiz to find out! Firstly, where did Dimitar Berbatov arrive from?

No doubt, a number of other exciting names could end up at the club in the future, too – with plenty of links currently about – and Cowlin certainly seems confident that something ‘big’ will happen soon.

If Conte is to have a strong season, he will want to have his players fit and ready at the start of the campaign following a good pre-season. With that in mind, he may well be pushing for a few transfers to get finalised sooner rather than later and Cowlin’s prediction may well come true.

I think we are still at the top end of our choices to be making purchases just yet.In a week or so, we’ll drop down from the best players on offer to the middle of the road.. We might pick up one from this section.. Then a few more weeks, we’ll then go down to the unheard ofs and make most of our acquisitions from this pile.
