Journalist Alex Crook has claimed that Sasa Kalajdzic could be heading to Tottenham Hotspur if he is happy to be a backup for Harry Kane.
Tottenham are the latest club that have shown interest in the Stuttgart forward, with others showing interest including Premier League outfit Southampton, as well as Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.
Kalajdzic spent a large period at the start of the 2021/22 season on the sidelines due to injury, but he ended up impressing after netting six times in 15 Bundesliga games for Stuttgart to keep them in the top flight, and his current contract with the club is set to expire at the end of next term.
Spurs finished fourth last season, meaning they qualified for the Champions League, and whilst speaking with GiveMeSport, Crook claimed that he can see Kalajdzic signing for the north London club – provided that he is open to being second-choice to Harry Kane.
He said: “That’s the best problem for Tottenham, isn’t it, trying to find someone to play second-fiddle. So, I think if he’s willing to do that, I could see it.”

With Spurs qualifying for the Champions League, Conte will be looking to bolster his squad with a mix of players in the starting XI and players to supply cover in areas in which they are short such as the striker spot, as Harry Kane is the only recognised senior striker in the squad.
It might be hard for Spurs to find a forward that is good enough but also acceptant that they are going to be nothing more than a backup for England’s skipper, so if they can get Kaladjzic in the door, it would be a great piece of business.
The Austrian forward was the top scorer for Stuttgart last season in the Bundesliga despite starting just 13 games, so he could be a great option for Conte if Kane gets injured or during cup competitions when the Englishman needs a rest.
