Tottenham Hotspur want to make Djed Spence their fourth signing of this summer’s transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The transfer expert has been discussing Fabio Paratici’s dealings in north London on the Que Golazo YouTube channel.
Following the additions of Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster, the Italian fully expects Yves Bissouma to become the third new face through the door at Tottenham this summer, with a deal believed to be in place.
Romano believes the Lilywhites will have their sights locked on a move for Middlesbrough’s Djed Spence once the deal for Bissouma is confirmed.
He said: “At the moment they are focusing on Bissouma. So I’m sure that then the next step for Tottenham will be the right [wing-back], with Spence who could be one of the options.”
TIF Thoughts on Romano’s comments…
It would certainly be a big step forward for Spurs if they were potentially able to land both Bissouma and Spence by the end of the week.
Who would you start at RWB?
It would mean the club are clearly keen to appease Antonio Conte this summer and put a lot of faith in his judgement, but equally quickly addressing areas identified before the summer.
And we think Conte will be keen to get his new players in as soon as possible in order to give them a full pre-season under his guidance.
Plus, with Christian Eriksen still believed to very much be an option for Spurs with clubs awaiting his decision, this could be quite the start to the summer window for Spurs and a real cause for optimism.
