Tottenham Hotspur should find out what Christian Eriksen’s decision will be on his future next week, with the Lilywhites told he is not re-joining Brentford.

This has been claimed by journalist Dean Jones on the Ranks FC podcast when discussing the Dane’s future amid links to Spurs.

Reports suggest Antonio Conte is now keen on bringing Eriksen back to his former side, with the Italian also previously managing him during their time together at Inter.

However, there is also said to be serious interest coming from Manchester United, with the Red Devils also putting an offer forward to bring the midfielder to Old Trafford.

With the two Premier League powerhouses said to have now put forward their proposals to the 30-year-old, Jones expects a decision to be announced next week.

He said: “I personally do think he’s made up his mind, I don’t know what that decision is. We should have it next week, basically. This was always going to be the week when Eriksen rumours were going to bounce back and we knew that there was a decision pending.

“He was waiting for an offer from Man United and Tottenham. Tottenham and Man United were also waiting for him to make it known that he’s not going to be staying at Brentford, and from what I understand, through intermediaries, both of those clubs were told that he’s not joining Brentford.

“So they are now able to actually table their offers for him, so he’s got to weigh up on a personal level what suits him.”

TIF Thoughts on Jones’ comments…

We still think Spurs is the obvious choice for Eriksen given the positives on offer with familiar surroundings and a familiar coach, while there have been suggestions claiming he would like to remain in London.

Where do you expect Eriksen to end up this summer?

Given the player has suggested Champions League football is also a factor in his decision-making, it does seem as if everything is pointing towards a return to N17.

However, there is the possibility Eriksen could be interested in Erik ten Hag’s new project at Old Trafford, and with the pair sharing Ajax connections, we are interested to see how this pans out.
