Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-season tours could leave Antonio Conte frustrated ahead of the start of the 2022/23 campaign.
This has been suggested by Alasdair Gold, who has been speaking about the Italian manager on his latest YouTube video ahead of the transfer window.
According to Gold, during the 52-year-old’s time at Chelsea, the Italian manager was left frustrated by the club’s pre-season travels, which led to a slow start to the new campaign.
And this comes ahead of Tottenham’s pre-season trips to South Korea, Israel and a domestic clash away to Rangers at Ibrox sandwiched between the two international trips.
With two long trips scheduled ahead of the new campaign, Gold has highlighted his concerns over Conte’s potential frustrations going into the 2022/23 season.
He said: “It’ll be interesting to see how Conte takes to those tours. Because certainly, I remember when Chelsea did a pre-season tour of Singapore and China – it was the 2017/18 season, I think – he was not happy with that tour.
“And he would moan; when they had a rough start to the Premier League, he was moaning about that tour and saying that he had tired the players out. So he won’t be shy in telling us that, I’m sure – not only on tour, but maybe as the season begins.”

Spurs do have some considerable travelling to do this summer, however, their Premier League rivals are in a similar position, with the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool also travelling long distances for their pre-season camps.
