Alasdair Gold has been speaking on his YouTube channel about Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Djed Spence.

It had perhaps been widely expected that newly promoted Nottingham Forest would be signing Spence after his successful loan spell with them in the Championship last season, however, he performed so well that he’s attracted interest from fellow Premier League sides.

There doesn’t appear to have been an obligation to buy for Forest, which has allowed Spurs to swoop in and seemingly put themselves in pole position to land the 21-year-old, with some outlets claiming a fee has been agreed with Middlesbrough for Spence.

Gold has now claimed after speaking to people close to Spence, who is said to have ‘all the tools’, that he does favour a move to Tottenham this summer.

Do Spurs need to sign Spence?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

He said: “No developments on Djed Spence as of yet, he’s really another one to keep an eye on because definitely, I know people within his camp were expecting some developments last week, which didn’t really come.

“As I said before, it seems like Djed Spence does favour a move to Spurs with the attraction of Champions League football and the fact that he would get a fair bit of game time with Spurs as well.”

TIF Thoughts on Spence’s potential move to Spurs…

Given that Emerson Royal could be set to leave the club this summer and it remains unclear how Matt Doherty will return after the serious injury he sustained last season, Spence could well see it as a great opportunity to establish himself as a wing-back under Conte for a Champions League side.

While Gold has claimed that there have been no developments in Spurs’ pursuit of Spence, the fact that his camp expected one would suggest that talks are well and truly advanced at this stage and that the two parties believe something can and will get sorted out this summer.
