It has recently been reported by David Ornstein that Spurs’ north London rivals have lodged an unsuccessful bid for the Brazilian, which has certainly firmed up their interest in the player and could kickstart a bidding war.
While no other club has seemingly made an official move for Raphinha, the Brazilian winger is said to be on the list for the London trio of Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs – with the latter reportedly making early enquiries into his services, according to Thomas.
The Sky Sports reporter has revealed Tottenham do indeed have Raphinha on their transfer list.
Should Spurs sign Raphinha?
Thomas said: “He’s definitely on the list, [Spurs have] definitely made enquiries about him, I know that much. He’s one of a number of forward options they’ve been making quite a few enquiries about recently.
“This is an interesting one, an interesting situation with a lot of clubs involved.”
TIF Thoughts on Spurs’ interest in Raphinha…
Spurs pulled off what now looks to be a superb piece of business in January when they brought in Dejan Kulusevski on an initial loan, with the Sweden international managing to record 13 goal involvements in just 18 league appearances.
However, if they are to be competitive in all four of the competitions they are involved in this upcoming season, strength in depth will be key, so signing someone Premier League-proven in the form of Raphinha would make Spurs’ attack appear very scary for any defence, so we are not surprised they are interested in adding him to their ranks.
