Speaking on his YouTube channel, journalist Alasdair Gold has claimed that Fabio Paratici is still a big fan of Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Weston McKennie.

For most of the January transfer window, Spurs were being linked with a move for the Juventus midfielder, but nothing ended up materialising as Antonio Conte seemingly opted for the American’s teammate, Rodrigo Bentancur.

However, links have once again started to emerge as this summer’s transfer window kicks into full swing, and while Spurs have winter arrival Bentancur and recent signing Yves Bissouma on the books, it appears that Spurs supremo Paratici is still very much an admirer of McKennie, according to Gold.

While Spurs are well-stocked in the midfield department, Gold believes Tottenham could still take a look at McKennie this summer.

He said: “I will say this every single time, Paratici [is] a huge fan of McKennie – wanted him at the top of his January midfield transfer list; had him above Bentancur but couldn’t get him.

Would you like Spurs to sign McKennie?

“I think if Spurs were to lose any more than Winks, I do think, seriously, they would look at McKennie. I think they would be hopefully at the front of the queue for him as well, and I do wonder how the Pogba situation is going to impact him.”

TIF Thoughts on Spurs’ interest in McKennie…

It has been reported that Spurs held talks in January about a summer move for McKennie – and Gold admits it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise to see Tottenham go back in for him this transfer window.

McKennie would probably acknowledge that if he joined Tottenham, he would not be a guaranteed starter immediately, which could put the player off a move, as he appeared to have nailed down a starting berth in Turin last season before he picked up a big injury.
