Journalist Alex Crook has claimed that the Tottenham Hotspur faithful should keep an eye on Nicolo Zaniolo for a potential move to the club..

There have been reports stating that Tottenham Hotspur have shown interest in Nicolo Zaniolo, with the director of football at the Premier League club meeting with those at Roma over a potential move to Spurs for the Italian winger.

With Spurs showing interest in Zaniolo, Joe Rodon could be used as part of the deal in an attempt to lure the winger away from Roma this summer, as the Welsh defender was out of favour last season for the North London side after featuring just three times in the Premier League.

As Spurs are keen to bring Zaniolo to the club this summer, Crook spoke to GiveMeSport and claimed that they are torn on whether to offer Rodon as part of the swap deal.

“I think they’re torn on Joe Rodon because they know that he’s a quality player, but perhaps he’s just not going to get the minutes that he would like, particularly if they do recruit.

“So, I think that is a name that we should certainly keep an eye on,” Crook said.

Do you think Rodon should be given a chance?

TIF Thoughts on Crook’s comments…

Spurs qualified for the Champions League after they finished fourth in the Premier League last season, so Antonio Conte will be keen to add depth to the squad, and he has already made three signings. But, with Richarlison now seemingly on the way, perhaps there isn’t really the need for another attacker.

Zaniolo, who was named a ‘beast’ by Serie A journalist Carlo Garganese, could be a good option for Conte, as he is just 22-years-old and the Italian coach will know him from his time as Inter Milan manager. With Rodon not featuring much last season, he could be used to get the price down for Zaniolo, so this would be a good option for all parties involved.
